Safe havens in the holidays

School holidays should mean fun . . . and boredom when the holiday is long enough! Unfortunately, for many children living in townships, holidays mean exposure to abuse or being left at home alone . . . with no food in sight.

That’s why we have an active school holiday programme. We ensure that children receive a healthy meal each day and are entertained with informative learning programmes at our centres.

Children learn about a variety of life orientation topics, such as HIV/Aids, substance-abuse and first aid. The school holiday programmes keep children out of harm’s way and gives them a chance to interact with children from different schools.
