You're helping us to smooth the way for school

Our Malnutrition Rehabilitation Programme is enjoying great success in preparing pre-schoolers from impoverished households for school. At the end of 2015, 38 children from two of our feeding centres were ready to enter Grade one, and we marked this important transition in their lives with funfilled graduation celebrations.

It’s important to remember that these are not regular pre-schoolers who come from nurturing homes: these are severely malnourished children and orphans from poor families, who are often HIV/Aidsinfected or -affected. Because they come from such challenging backgrounds, these children require holistic treatment to enable them to grow emotionally, socially, physically and educationally.

Pre-schoolers spend many happy hours at our centres, receiving three meals and two snacks each day, along with themebased educational activities, stories and games. Thank you for your support in preparing these children for their next big step in life!
