Spotlight on Zola

The ACFS runs Malnutrition Rehabilitation Centres at our Zola and Alexandra centres. “We enrol 100 malnourished children aged between three and five years at the start of each year: 60 at Alexandra and 40 at Zola,” explains Phindi.

The children get two meals and a snack each day and their health is monitored and evaluated on a monthly or quarterly basis. “The malnutrition programme also serves as an Early Childhood Development programme. As much as we are reversing that condition of hunger, we are also stimulating learning,” she says.

Thank you for giving these children the twin benefits of nourishment and early education!
