Pulane's our star performer

ACFS cook Pulane Makatise has been preparing meals at our Zola Malnutrition Centre for six years now; and has worked for ACFS for 12 years altogether. She somehow manages to balance two huge pots on her small stove and gets great satisfaction from putting nutritious meals in front of malnourished children.

“I know I’ve done a big job when I see the children thrive. When they first come here they are thin, but after three months they’ve recovered and put on weight. This makes me very happy,” she says.

Pulane has three children of her own and her working hours of 8am to 3.30pm mean that she has time to go home and look after them too. “My children are proud of what I do. They like to know that I’m helping people.”

Thank you Pulane for being an ACFS star.
