Meet our new Executive Director
ACFS welcomed a new Executive Director on 1 February: Bertha Magoge. Bertha holds an Honours degree in social work and has dedicated her career to children and community issues.
“My priorities are to expand the reach of ACFS so that more children can access our services, and to develop a branding strategy that makes ACFS a household name. I’m also keen to explore the idea of using our feeding centers to offer more services to children, such as a comprehensive aftercare programme, to prepare them for their early teen and adult lives,” says Bertha.
Bertha is passionate about early learning – and the ACFS feeding scheme plays a crucial role in this. “A hungry child cannot learn, nor can they be active citizens. Children deserve the best chance in life, no matter the circumstance of their birth.”
Former Executive Director, Phindile Hlalele, will work in a supportive role until she retires in December. “The ACFS will always be grateful to Phindile for her 12 years of self-sacrifice and for taking the organisation to where it is today. Keya-leboha Ausi Phindi,” says Bertha.
