Nkanyezi will never forget the day his mother passed away. He was only 16. And suddenly he suddenly found himself the head of the family, responsible for his younger sister Owami, and their little brother Siyanda, who is only seven years old.
Saying goodbye to their mother left the children deeply sad.
It also left them penniless and alone.
That’s why I’m hoping you can find it in your heart to sponsor a food parcel today … to ensure children like these get enough to eat.
After a visit by our Community health worker, we started providing the family with groceries and monthly food parcels, provided by kind people like you. Other donors also supplement their food.
Thanks to this generous support, the little family comes to our Pimville Centre each day after school. Here they are assured of a fresh peanut butter sandwich and a cup of milk … a warm hug from Centre Manager, Doreen … and a safe place to play and do their homework.
But we feed thousands of children like this every day, from poverty stricken communities in Tembisa, Soweto and Alexandra.
And that’s why we’re hoping you’ll help sponsor their food, by making a donation today.
School teachers give us valuable feedback about the health and achievements of our children – and ACFS nurses conduct regular weight and health checks. So you can be sure that your kindness really is making a difference.
It’s the difference between health and malnutrition … a flame of hope in the children’s harsh world. Please will you extend a compassionate hand to children who are forced to grow up before their time? Your gift means so much, because it lets them know that they’re not alone.
